Tips for a Successful Start
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Welcome to our school community! As your student enters high school, we’re excited to support them on this important journey. Freshman year is a time of growth, exploration, and opportunity—and with the right habits and support, students can set themselves up for long-term success. Here are some key tips to help your student thrive in high school:
1. Build Good Habits Early
Encourage your student to stay organized, complete assignments on time, and review class materials regularly. Establishing a consistent study routine from the beginning makes a big difference.
2. Get Involved
Clubs, sports, and extracurricular activities help students make connections, build confidence, and discover their passions. Participation also helps students feel more connected to school.
3. Communicate and Ask for Help
High school comes with new challenges. Encourage your student to talk to their teachers, counselors, or school staff when they have questions or need support. We’re here to help.
4. Monitor Progress
Check in regularly on grades and attendance. Many schools offer online portals for families—make sure you’re signed up and using those tools to stay informed.
5. Set Goals and Stay Positive
Whether it’s improving grades, joining a new activity, or preparing for college and career paths, setting goals keeps students motivated. Celebrate progress, big or small!
We are thrilled to partner with you and your student throughout this exciting new chapter. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or need support.
